What made you want to become an engineer?
“Both my parents are engineers so they introduced me to problem solving at a young age. Having had it around me my whole life, I was familiar with the industry however I wasn’t sure I wanted to do engineering. I grew up in Ecuador and loved marine creatures and so I wanted to be a marine biologist to work in the Galapagos. It wasn’t until my junior year in high school, when I attended a Women in Engineering program at the University of Maryland that changed my mind.”
What is your favorite season & why?
“My favorite season is spring. The weather is perfect to go outside after months of cold weather. I love looking at the blooming flowers and stepping on the green grass.”
What inspires you?
“Traveling and exploring new cultures through the meeting people and the enjoyment of food.”
