Bryant Recognized by ACEC of Massachusetts

On March 15, 2017, The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) announced the recipients of the 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards at the ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala. Bryant, as a subconsultant to STV, was awarded the 2017 Bronze Award honoring Outstanding Professional Design Excellence for the Long Island Bridge Demolition.

This project, led by the Massachusetts Department of Recreation and Conservation, was funded under a $3.3 million grant administered by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and completed within 120 days with the help of thorough designs and logistical planning.

Prior to the Long Island Bridge demolition, Bryant performed a bathymetric survey of the harbor and surveyed the 12 existing piers to determine if they could be utilized for construction of a new bridge structure.  Bryant also performed utility design work to support the installation of a replacement water transmission main in Boston Harbor, from Moon Island to Long Island, as the utilities were originally positioned on the Long Island Bridge.
