New Project at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery

Bryant Associates was selected to provide design services for the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery’s (RIVMC) in Exeter, RI. This projects includes a five-phase design of a new columbaria area that will accommodate 14,000 niches, each of these single compartments will hold cremated remains. We will also provide vehicular and pedestrian accessibility to the site while considering the site analysis and development involving circulation and building locations, site amenities, drainage and erosion, utilities, irrigation systems, and development regulations (archaeological resources, environmental assessments and flood plains).

We look forward to working with our team of consultants and The Rhode Island Office of Veterans Affairs once again, having provided project management, surveying and GPS support on a site survey for RIVMC. On this recently completed project, Bryant survey crews performed boundary and topographic surveys through aerial mapping and supplemental ground surveys to depict existing conditions of the 280-acre cemetery. After analyzing the survey of existing conditions, GIS database plans, wetland and archaeological assessments and soil evaluation, our team developed a master plan for the 280-acre site that allows for future expansion of pre-placed burial crypts, burial fields, columbarium plaza sites, roadway systems, and stormwater management.
